Job Description: We are seeking a 1:1 support person to support an autistic adult on Manhattan's Upper West Side.
Location: Upper West Side
Pay: $30/hour
Schedule:
Please note that preferred candidates will be available both shifts, but availability for one day would also be explored.
Wednesdays from 10:30am - 7pm
Fridays from 7:30am - 3pm
Job Requirements:
Experience as a caregiver for adults with disabilities
Experience working with people with who have difficulties with expressive language
Willingness to be flexible and creative to support adults with various needs
Strong communication skills
Extensive experience and knowledge of New York public transportation and is comfortable with travel training
Job Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities may include some or all of the following tasks:
Support with arranging group activities and coordinating transportation; accompany the individual when appropriate.
Travel with and teach client appropriate and effective use of public transportation
Track and log detailed notes on well being and ADL progress.
Coordinate with the client’s team to ensure seamless care; participate in weekly team meetings to review progress and discuss needs.
Comfortable participating at volunteer sites and modeling tasks.
