We are looking for a Los Angeles–based artist to join our team for live events.

As a Drawing Booth artist, you will create fast, flattering digital portraits of guests using an iPad while mingling throughout the event. You’ll be interacting with guests, managing your drawing and printing workflow, and contributing to the overall energy of the event.

Events typically take place within one hour of central Los Angeles and are usually scheduled evenings and weekends. Most events are approximately 4 hours, including arrival/setup and drawing time.

This role requires both strong drawing ability and comfort working with people in a live, fast-paced environment.

About Us

Drawing Booth is a live illustration experiential agency creating interactive portrait experiences for corporate events, brand activations, and private celebrations.

Our artists create quick, flattering digital portraits of guests on iPad while moving through the event. This is not a sit-behind-a-table role. Artists work on their feet, mingling with guests, drawing in real time, and delivering a highly engaging experience.

Founded by artist Elke Reva Sudin in New York, Drawing Booth has grown into a network of artists working across major cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, and beyond. We work with a range of clients from corporate teams to private hosts, with a focus on high-quality work and a strong guest experience.

Artists are trained directly by Elke and then work closely with our global accounts team for event coordination and scheduling.

This is a non-exempt, W-2 position employed on an as-needed basis. Scheduling is driven by event bookings and your availability. Events typically take place in the evenings and on weekends at venues throughout the Los Angeles area, usually within an hour of central LA. Artists are generally booked 3–4 weeks in advance.

The work takes place in live event environments such as corporate venues, restaurants, and private spaces. It is social, fast-paced, and requires focus, adaptability, and a professional presence. Artists often work alongside other Drawing Booth team members, though some events may be solo.

We maintain a collaborative, supportive team culture and prioritize clear communication before, during, and after each event. There are no guaranteed hours, and work is assigned per event based on availability, but reliability and consistency are essential for continued opportunities with the team.
