Position Purpose:
The role of the prep team member is to support all facets of the production process and to contribute towards a safe, healthy, clean, and happy work environment for all. We’re looking for a candidate who is intentional, focused, engaged and curious.
Overall:
• Sand and prepare constructed and components of furniture to the Egg Collective standard to prepare for finishing.
• Strive to work within production timeline goals provided by the prep manager and be responsible for helping team execute on-time completion of projects.
• Maintain quality control of pieces as they move between construction and finishing.
• Become proficient in Egg Collective’s finishes and materiality, utilizing that knowledge to
approach each piece when prepping.
• Assist to lift, hold, and move pieces at all stages in the production process.
• Help keep the shop organized and clean, managing trash schedule, trash containers, box
breakdown, etc.
• Learn and assist with basic machine maintenance.
• General assistance throughout the shop with lumber deliveries, assembly, etc.
• Assist in fabricating solid wood bases, crates, finish samples and other small projects.
• Gain an understanding of fabrication methods by working alongside and assisting
builders as instructed.
• Keep an accurate account of hours through Harvest Time app.
• Help with close-down procedures daily.

Physical Demands:
Physical requirements include lifting / carrying of up to 50 pounds; ability to push and pull carts weighing up to 250 pounds; visual acuity, speech, and hearing; hand and eye coordination; and manual dexterity necessary to operate machinery. Subject to sitting, standing (8 hrs /day), reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, stretching, walking, twisting, and kneeling to perform the essential functions.
Work Environment:
This job operates out of the Egg Collective Manufacturing Facility in Brooklyn, NY. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. The prep team member role is an in-person position. This role cannot be performed remotely.
Pay and Benefits:
