Looking for a roommate to sublet one bedroom in a 2-bedroom+office apartment in prime Park Slope, three blocks from the F, G, and R trains, and four blocks west of Prospect Park. The tenant would be signing on to a three month sublet from April 1st (at the earliest; open to later start) to July 31st with the option to join the lease upon renewal August 1st. The unit is on the top floor of a five-story walk-up building, but makes up for it with sunny southern exposure in the bedroom and living room with a view of the Verrazzano Bridge, and a great view of Downtown Brooklyn from the office window.

The bedroom fits a full-size bed, dresser, bookcase, and nightstand. There is a small closet with hanging space and a shelf. The office is both a workspace and a storage space, with space for a second desk or other mid-sized furniture.

The kitchen is equipped with all the basics, with room in the cabinets for anything you might bring with you. The living room is also furnished but I'm happy to swap out the futon for a proper couch if you're bringing one with you!

The location is a perfect mix of quiet residential street and vibrant, active avenues. Shops, restaurants, cafes, and bars line 5th Avenue in particular, and the building is in the center of a long block, so you get all the access with none of the noise.

Looking for someone who is a direct communicator, LGBTQ+-friendly and cat-loving. Single occupancy only.

About This Lister

I'm the current resident and leaseholder. I'm in my mid 30s and work as an archivist at a nonprofit, currently working remotely one day a week. My hobbies include reading, video games, going to metal and rock shows, and watching a TV show or movie a few times a week, depending on what's airing! I treat the apartment as an unwinding space after work and usually go out with friends rather than host, and am looking for someone with a similar mindset. I have a year-old cat named Bonito, who is the cutest and friendliest cat on the planet, so cat-loving is a must.

Rental requirements

Rent is $2050 a month, with utilities split equally. Internet is $65 a month, gas is usually around $20 a month, and electricity is usually around $80 a month (though higher in the summer months). Incoming tenant will have to pass a background check and fill out a rental application, with valid photo ID. Once approved by management, incoming tenant will draw up a standard NY Sublease Agreement with previous tenant, who I will put the incoming tenant in contact with.
